Challenges in Textiles Industry :
Key challenges before ERP implementation

Before implementing HM Technologies ERP, Emadi Textiles operated through multiple disconnected systems and manual processes, creating significant challenges across its weaving, knitting, and sizing operations. The absence of real time visibility and centralized control led to production inefficiencies, delays, and limited cost clarity.

Weaving Operations Lacked Control & Visibility:

Monitoring loom performance, production efficiency, downtime, and fabric output was largely manual. This made it difficult to track WIP status, manage machine utilization, and ensure timely order fulfillment often resulting in production delays and unplanned bottlenecks.

Knitting Sector Faced Scheduling & Coordination Issues:

Without integrated planning tools, coordinating knitting capacity with order priorities was challenging. Machine allocation, yarn availability, and production sequencing were difficult to manage, leading to uneven workloads, idle capacity, and inconsistent delivery timelines.

Sizing Process Lacked Standardization & Traceability:

Managing sizing chemicals, recipe consistency, and batch wise production documentation relied on manual records. This impacted process consistency, quality traceability, and the ability to analyze performance issues or quality deviations effectively.

Inventory Inaccuracies Across All Departments:

Raw materials, yarn, chemicals, and finished fabric inventories were tracked manually, causing stock mismatches, material shortages, overstocking, and disrupted production continuity.

Procurement & Vendor Governance Was Manual:

Purchase approvals, vendor selection, and pricing validation depended on spreadsheets and emails, slowing procurement cycles and increasing administrative effort.

Quality & Compliance Documentation Challenges:

Maintaining batch wise quality records, production history, and compliance documentation required significant manual effort, increasing the risk of data gaps and audit challenges.

Limited Financial Integration & Costing Visibility:

Lack of direct integration between production and finance restricted accurate costing, profitability tracking per process/department, and timely financial decision making.
